The people of Cambodia have so little...yet they are so content with their lives. Contrasting their attitude and perspective in life to those in America with money at their disposal, great careers, homes, cars, food on the table, and an education, yet somehow, despite all that we have, we always want more... and as I departed the country of Cambodia, I realized my hunger and desires in life is satisfied by so many other things, but not God. Suddenly, His grace seemed absolutely precious to me.
In our secluded and isolated American-dream world, we are unaware of the rest of the world's suffering. We are unaware of how just how blessed we are and just how much we take for granted in our daily lives. America is God's gift to all of us -- a land where the practice of our religion is not condemned -- a land where we are not persecuted for having our faith -- a land where the people are given the right to vote freely. Thank you God for this country that we call home.
